The arrival of spring is always a time of great happiness. Even the farmers who have lived through countless springs stop for a moment, to contemplate the awakening of nature.

As soon as you open the windows, after a chilly night, an air of promise floats over the countryside. The joy you feel comes from a feeling where strength and lightness are curiously mixed. Everything seems so fragile yet and yet already so strong.

Nothing illustrates this feeling better than the grafting a wild fruit tree. On a vigorous trunk, we plant a few fragile branches, no longer than a few centimeters. After having tapered the graft, it is inserted between the bark and the wood, in the “cambium”, this thin layer of undifferentiated cells, barely visible, which ensures the growth of the tree.

The success of the graft depends on the contact that is created between the “cambium” of the graft and that of the tree. From this delicate and extremely precise work, a branch will spring in the following weeks and, the following season, will become an integral part of the tree and will bear new fruits.

It is this force of spring, where suddenly everything seems possible, where nothing seems to be able to stop the force of life, which fills us with renewed happiness, year after year.
