From the hedgerows, we can hear the chirps of crickets. Here and there, we can hear birdsongs, often from nightingales. Sometimes even the bark of a deer from the nearby olive grove.
Dinner is almost over. We open a bottle of Vin Santo. We dip Cantuccini in it - those delicious Tuscan biscuits with almonds.
It's a beautiful July night at the Villa Ambretta. The stars are shining. Tomorrow is another day.
