A year is coming to an end. As another one begins, the first narcissus start to bloom. In February, the almond trees will be covered in delicate, white flowers; then, in March, it will be the wild pear trees, which can then be grafted with other varieties of pears...

In April we will pick wild asparagus in the olive groves, and in May we will be able to eat the young artichokes from the garden. In June, the apricot trees will offer us their golden treasures.

What would summer be without the tomatoes from the vegetable garden, which we will eat in July in the shade of the pergola. August will delight us with its juicy peaches and delicate figs, then September will bring sweet grapes and cooler days.

Then will come October, and it will be time for the olive harvest and the smell of fresh oil in the press; then November and its mushrooms that we discover in the woods like so many surprises. In December we will cook cabbage, chard, and spinach from the vegetable garden before spending the evening by the
fireplace.

The year will end. Another will begin with the first narcissus that will bloom, and then, come February, we will look towards the almond trees...
